So we're about a month overdue but better late than never! Rather than a complete overhaul of our current menu, we are instead tweaking ingredients, prices and flavours to better suit a summer cuisine. Think lots of stone fruit, zucchinis, fresh herbs, tomatoes and sorbets.
The last few weeks of renovating were a frenzy. All hands on deck with lots of late nights!
It all came together just in time for our launch on September 30.
I should have known that our avocado dish would be the most popular.
It's familiar, it can be eaten for breakfast or lunch, and, it's bloody tasty! The pesto on crispy sourdough is the perfect base for creamy avocado.
This is The Sweet Meadow! What a blur the last few weeks have been.
I finished up at my former workplace on September 28, and just two days later, had a launch party for my friends and family. I had no intention of opening the cafe straight after, the launch was really just a way to stop and appreciate the huge effort that lots of people made to get this project off the ground.
Definitely feeling the pressure these last couple of weeks. The transformation at the cottage is massive - amazing what a fresh coat of paint does for the space!
She's finally transforming into what I envisioned the first day I stepped inside back in December 2015. Some of the more intricate paint work is being finished this week, along with external painting and flooring.
